LinkedIn Pro Question (7 posts)

  • I want to send emails to my LI connections in Maine for an upcoming conference I’m putting on.

    There’s about 1,300 I’m connected to.

LI limits emails to about 200 (although they don’t limit the times you can email additional groups), but you need to click them on one at a time, which is too tedious.

I could also export the names and email them directly, but I’d rather avoid that if possible b/c it’s likely to anger my ISP.

I’m considering upgrading to LI Pro if that gives me the ability to send emails through LI to unlimited contacts.

Does anyone have any experience with  this?

  • Hi @rich-brooks. I don’t really have experience with the specifics of what you are asking but if you need to export and email them directly, try MailChimp. For the number of contacts you have, the service is free!

  • @jamesalonso Thanks. I actually have accounts at Constant Contact and AWeber already, so I’m set there.

Have you tried going to http://www.linkedin.com/connections, clicking the connections you want to send to and then compose the mail from there?

  • @rich-brooks I have a ‘Check Them All’ add-on that selects all of the check boxes in an open window. Would that work for you?

  • @iamconsulting: I have, and I may go that way. Two downsides: no personalization unless I send out each email individually, typing their name and copying and pasting in my message. Also, limits to 50 at a time for bulk emails.

@richardmclaughlin: are you on pro? I have that, too, but once I get past 50 selected the “email” option becomes grayed out.

  • @rich-brooks

I hadn’t tried to send a bulk mail through LinkedIn (although I’ve been meaning to), however, I tried tonight and had the same 50 person limit.  I searched LinkedIn’s help center and looked further into their other premium accounts but did not find anything that would suggest there is a way to send more than 50 at a time.

If you find a way or if someone else would be kind enough to post, let us know.  Good luck!
