LinkedIn Company Pages (7 posts)

  • I know LinkedIn is a great resource, but how can you gain more ‘company’ followers and engage with your connections through the company page? You can’t even share a post from a connection onto your company page…

  • You could send an InMessage to all of your connections announcing your company page and including a link to it. Ask people to follow your company to receive company updates (you can post updates on your company page just like you can on your profile page).

You can send up to 50 InMessages at one time and can send multiple InMessages until you have reached everybody.

  • Hi there Arbel! We’re still growing our follower base too. :)

You can add the LinkedIn Follow button icon to your website and ask your current clients/customers to check out the page.

Our page currently has employees followers so be sure to have your co-workers add it to their profile too. It looks more presentable when people see who works at the company.

    Hope that helps.

I’d focus more on connecting w/people as a person on LI…I know they’re adding more company page features, but they’re not there yet.

Also, don’t try and get people to visit your page…like on FB, people don’t often return. However, your company posts can appear in the newsfeed in LI.

I wrote a blog post about it. It’s near the top:

    Hope that helps!

  • Thanks everyone for your responses!

@kathybernard I’ve tried to include a link in an invitation, which didn’t work, but maybe an IMessage would be better fit for that. Would the recipients know that I am sending out a mass email? Or should I personalize it (which could take me days)?

@alice-ly, yes, once our website is complete I will have an api for our LinkedIn company page, as well as in newsletters, promotional materials and so on.

@rich-brooks, I think that’s the problem; LinkedIn is a good amount behind on the integration of company pages, which is odd since it is pretty much the only network that is specifically geared towards professionals. Even the simple ability to ‘speak’ as your company page on group discussions, the company followers & to your personal connections, would make a world of difference! I truly hope that LinkedIn is working on something because it could be such a powerful tool to have companies have a more social experience on LI.

How have you guys built up your company page follower numbers within LinkedIn? Or, is it all redirection from other sites/campagins?

  • Arbel, You can’t include a web link or email address in an invitation; however, I have figured out that you can include a link if you put a space before and after the period, like this … Getajobtips . com. I do it all the time and it works great. The people should be able to figure out that the real address has the spaced removed.

Regarding the mass InMessage, the system does not personalize the messages to the recipient, so you have two options: 1) Do a generic mass InMessage (without customization) and just say something like, “Hello” or “Friends” or 2) Send each person a personalized message with their name (that would be a major pain).

  • Oh, and you CAN include live links in InMessages. Kathy
