LinkedIn Company Page Promotion? (15 posts)

  • What have you found to be the best way to promote engagement and encourage followers on your company page?

  • @stevemcauliffe I’m interested to hear others’ thoughts about this, too, Steve, as so far I haven’t seen much value in LinkedIn Company Pages.

I do like the Products and Services tab, and the fact that you can run free “ads” in the large image area in this section, as well as upload videos.

I wrote a column about LinkedIn Company pages for our local biz journal, the Snohomish County Business Journal.

  • @stevemcauliffe I think Steve you would promote your page as you would your FB page or G+ page. Make sure you direct traffic to the page e.g. add a link in your signature, add a link from your G+ profile, your website.

Perhaps, take an ad out on LinkedIn to drive traffic from LinkedIn also (no-brainer) spread the word about your page to your groups.

    Hey Steve,

LinkedIn just came out with a new follow button for it’s business pages.  See it on the left sidebar of SME on our main page

  • Great article @laurachristianson thanks for the link.

@mike-stelzner I heard about the addition, but not seeing the LIKE button other than on each of your posts.  Is it on the upgraded version?

  • @laurachristianson  I’ve had the same observation about the G+ business pages. Maybe it’ll just take some time for them to catch on. :)

Steve – glad you found my article on LinkedIn Company pages helpful.

Amy – It’s interesting to see how these networks grow and change so quickly, isn’t it?

  • @laurachristianson great article! have you, as the SMM for clients found it difficult to set up the company page. I have, on different occasions gotten the red fail box. And I have closely read the requirements and it appears that I satisfy them all. Ideas, Suggestions?

Go to our home page and look on the side bar for the IN following graphic

  • @jasonwiser Jason, I have had this happen, too, when setting up clients’ LinkedIn Company Pages. What we discovered is that the person setting up the account has to have a dedicated email address that is associated with the company name.

In other words, it did not let us use a gmail account, but it had to be emailaddress@nameofcompany.com.

It also took us several tries to get it to work, with letting LinkedIn “think about it” for several hours in between each try.

    Hope that helps!

  • Thank you for the great advice on this thread. I’ve been working on Linked In and experiencing similar problems. Now I know how to try to resolve them.

  • I don’t know if this is good or not, but I use the status update like I update the blogs / articles / sm feeds.

  • It feels like the evolution is occurring on LinkedIn, but very very slowly. Most of our clients don’t believe that they will get business from the business pages, but they’re very keen on the information about their prospects from the personal pages.

  • @jasonwiser @laurachristianson thanks for the initiative re. discussing important topic. I had followed every rule and had used client email id having their domain address but i got annoying error message which stated that: “We’re sorry that a new company page can’t be created at this time.” I kept coming back and trying again and again even with different corporate email ids for the client but every time i get same error message. This has been happening since last 2 months, prior to this i had successfully created company page for another client, but then after, no luck!Any similar experience or solution?
