LinkedIn: Can you restore a group post flagged as spam? (6 posts)

  • As a group moderator, is there a way you can restore group post that someone has wrongfully flagged? Or will the person have to repost the material? Thanks!!

  • @kc_kreative

Good question. Does flagging a comment automatically delete it? I know that in these clubs it just sends a message to the powers that be, and then it’s up to them to decide what to do.

  • @rich-brooks It’s interesting that a LinkedIn and Google search have turned up virtually nothing in the way of an answer. Guess I’ll have to post to LinkedIn Answers or ask Lewis Howes. When I find out, I will definitely post back here.

My friend who is creator of the group asked me about this so I assume that it isn’t as obvious as clicking on “restore”. It was actually one of my posts and totally benign he said (plus I try to be careful what I post). He wants to restore it to the group…

  • Here are two responses:

    1. “If you go into the main page for the group and click “Manage,” you’ll see a link that says “Moderation Queue.” You can see posts that are flagged. There is an option to “Clear Flags.”‘
    2. “Let’s say a member flagged a discussion as a promotion and the group settings allowed him or her to move it. You, as moderator, can find the message by selecting Promotions from the menu. There should be a “Move to Discussions” link under the message that allows you to undo the action.”

  • Kristy, did you get this cleared up? And, just to be clear, you are talking about posts on LinkedIn, right? @kc_kreative

  • @deairby Yes.
