Landing page traffic! (14 posts)

  • Hi guys,

Just want to know if anyone knows of any good ways on getting people directed to a landing page? We are launching our startup soon and want to get as many sign ups as possible. Was wondering if anyone of you have any tricks or tips that might help us think outside the box:)

  • @idamarlene Use social media. Try asking a question you know is keeping your ideal prospects awake at night and then give your landing page URL and perhaps a hint of the solution. For instance: Are deer destroying your landscape or garden? Try this: your URL (okay, this may not be keeping many people up at night, but you get the idea).

I’m not sure what you want people to sign up for (your newsletter, the announcement of your book’s launch, automatic delivery of your product?) but it helps to offer a free sample or trial of what they will get when they sign up instead of just saying “sign up!”

  • We use Facebook Ads.  And Google ads.  But your best bet is to be as specific as possible in your keywords…..don’t use general keywords….in my case I will use “john deere 7330″ instead of “used tractors for sales”.  Then direct them to your landing page.  Being specific gives you more bang for your buck.  Maybe not a lot of hits but better quality hits.

  • I have been doing a lot of reading on ‘list building’ and some of the experts out there- Ali Brown, Lisa Sasevich and Vrinda Normand have some great information. In particular, I like how they talk about the irresistible headlines- I think this is key, perhaps? As far as creating volume of traffic, yes Debbie and Trudy are bang on w/ the concise key words and using social media. I am in the process of doing a major overhaul on my site for the irresistible headlines and free gifts (ebook) to create the value that I have to offer. As a consumer, I like to receive something, like at a tradeshow or something that shows me what the products manufacturer/producer is worth, then, once I see the value, I am a lifetime, loyal customer. Like John Deere!

  • @idamarlene The tips from @debbielynnava @trudyd1474 and @suzannepetryshyn are good. Here’s mine:

Have your signup form above the fold on the page. If this is for list building then I would only ask for a name and email. Make sure you have an autoresponder opt-in to confirm, and at least one additional autoresponder message to engage.

Use a problem oriented headline in the social media outlets and do a bit of agitation on the problem, and present your offer as a solution.  This means you probably need to offer a freebie, such as “10 tips to X” as well as a newsletter signup.  The freebie will grab attention that a newsletter won’t, but the newsletter opt-in gives you a constant way to reach out to them and further engage.

In your autoresponder campaign, consider what your next steps are–how do you plan to further engage and get them closer to being a customer.

That of course depends on what you sell.

    Good luck

  •  thanks for the nod and post @joanmuschampfagnani

  • For a landing page I definitely recommend AdWords. The key is a well run campaign to make it worth your while. What is the landing page URL? Would love to take a look.

  • @idamarleneFirst, determine the value of each sign up. Then, you have a better place to work from if you’re going to spend money on PPC.You could use a platform like Shortstack or Constant Contact to build FB tabs and build your landing page right in FB, and run contests and do FB ads to drive traffic to that landing page of yours.Good luck!

  • Thanks for all the feedback guys! I will let you know when our landing page is ready, its just around the corner:)

  • @robpeck, we finally have our landing page ready! Take a look and please let me know what you think:)

    Landing page: statricks

We havent started using FB ads or google Adwords yet, as we are going to use the free methods first (takes a lot of time, but its hopefully worth it:)

  • @idamarlene

The page looks great. If I was to be a critic :)

    • I would also include a Name field so you can personalize emails.
    • I’d consider having the large logo being a slide show, perhaps showing some of the data or users in action.
    • I’d consider placing the partner logos “above the fold.” Perhaps at the very time, moving everything down just a little.
Again, looks great, but I do spend a lot of time on landing page optimization so I figured I’d offer some input.
    Best,

  • @robpeck,  thanks a lot! I really appreciate all feedback as I am new to this game:)

  • You could also try  http://soloaddirectory.com/ they get traffic/clicks to your page by marketing to their massive lists.  Average cost is .40 cents a click but can be cheaper.  The clicks are guaranteed and you can read reviews of past work. If you have a list yourself you can do ad swaps at adswaps.com

  • @bnsmav Thank you for your help. I will check it out asap as getting people to sign up on a landing page, is one of the most difficult things I’ve done with regards to marketing…
