I spend a lot of my time helping others as individuals to become better in affiliate marketing and make a 2nd or full time income online. I also spend time helping small business in my area come online and reach out to more people.

Hello everyone, I’m Julie.  I’ve been going at this social media marketing all alone for a few months, blind!  I’m a trial lawyer by day, but at night I help my husband by handling all the social media marketing (and SEO) for his ecommerce sites. 

We’re a small business in the sense that it is literally all run from my living room, but we have a large Internet presence and a high volume of sales, so I would rather not share our name in case competitors are lurking here.  We are an ecommerce company with many sub companies, and have been online for nearly 10 years now. 

Prior to me taking over the SEO and social marketing for all the companies, we didn’t really have anything happening there.  I was doing a lot of research on trends in SEO and marketing just because I like to learn things, and found a lot of positive things we hadn’t tapped into.  My husband kept saying he would get on it, but it never really happened due to severe feet dragging, so I just took the reigns one day, and here I am.

I started this fiasco back at the beginning of March.  Two months later, I’ve stumbled a lot, learned a lot, gotten very frustrated, and had moments of sheer pride and elation.  What I haven’t had is anyone to have meaningful conversation with, to share ideas, bounce things off, get definitive answers, etc.  Most of the forums I have found are full of make money fast type people, not people like me with established companies looking to stay afloat with the constant changes.

So, I’m very long winded, but I appreciate everyone welcoming me here, and hope to learn a lot from all of you!

Hi All! I just joined the marketing department of a small company with big technology designed to make healthcare more efficient (http://versustech.com).  Part of my job here is “Social Media Coordinator,” handling our LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook accounts, plus I’ll soon be launching a blog.  

Previously I worked at a daily newspaper (http://record-eagle.com) as the Digital Media Manager, where I successfully launched and managed the paper’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well managed reader-submitted blogs via Wordpress. 

I’ve got a good base of knowledge I hope to share, but I’m also looking forward to learning from the experience of everyone here — especially how to take what I know of the world of newspaper social media and apply it in a B2B sense.
