In TN we have a lot of “big media” that contribute heavily to the Congressional Delegation. My Delegations information can be found here http://blog.calevans.com/2011/12/31/to-my-congressional-delegation/ and you can find out how yours is leaning, and where they are getting their funding at http://www.sopatrack.com.
SOPA and PIPA are bad for the Internet because they use DNS technology as a weapon. The proposed “blacklisting” will undo work that has been done in recent years to secure the DNS system against attacks and actually make the Net more vulnerable.
I wrote up my thoughts on the matter over my Christmas vacation and posted them here http://avoidingagoatrodeo.com/2011/12/26/a-businesspersons-sopa-primer/.
I have been vocal enough about SOPA so that my Congressman (Rep. Jim Cooper D-TN) has invited me to meet with him on the top this week.
To anyone interested, contact your Congressional delegation, at the end of the article above there is a website that will help you find out who they are and help you contact them. Let them know that you don’t want SOPA and PIPA to be “fixed” you want them killed.

p.s. Coming down off my soapbox now.
