I posted this topic in the Facebook club but I feel it may have a different feel in the small business world. I run all the social media for my company. While we have been around for a few years, when it comes to being online, my company is pretty new to it, which is why I was brought on. So we have set up a Facebook page that people can like. We have a decent following of about 100+ followers. I recently came across a site that you could “buy” facebook likes. I understand that if I were to purchase these likes, they would not be very specific to our audience. The reason for the purchase would be to increase the SEO of other sites (including Facebook’s). Do you feel this is a good idea? Consumers can not see who likes a page but they can see the amount. I know if I were on a company’s page and 1,2 or 3000+ people liked the page, in my mind, it must be good. What are your thoughts?
