FSS2012 raises that images are key for engagement.
Any recommendations on image sources which can be used in Social Media content?
Looking for minimal cost image ideas, as my company is service based, so producing our own images is not always practical.
Not wanting to violate anyone’s copyrite, so are keen for new ideas for image sources.

I often go to Microsoft Clipart Gallery which is Free:  http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/images/  They sometimes have images that are from other sources included but you can tell when you see a watermark that they are copywrited – the majority are free.  You can also find free images on Google Images but check again for watermarks and if they have been found on “sites” where I am leary about copywrite issues.

@cassandra-bodie you have to do a lot of sifting when looking for a free stock images. I tend to make my own. But maybe this resource can help:

http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/ is a great source for images. To use the free images, you have to provide attribution. Very easy to do if using in a blog. May not work in all situations.

I like photopin.com. Free with a link. Vast source of material. Eclectic in subject and quality, so it is easy to avoid the “stock photo” look. I play around with key words and am often delighted with a serendipitous find that actually influenced the design path taken. A lot of the contributors seem to be from Europe which gives a different sensibility.

@dcoville001 The problem with MS Clipart Gallery is that lots of those images look dated and are overused. I used to do that all the time.
