Just wondering what everyone uses to convert images to different formats and if there is a great free tool out there. Also where do you get good quality free images?

I usually just use photoshop.

I use a few things.  Photoshop and Snag It! Editor.  SnagIt by Tech Smith is a great tool since you can grab images and do any minor editing, crops, even add text to the image.  It’s a simple program with lots of uses.  SnagIt is at http://www.SnagIt.com 

I also get free images from http://www.DreamsTime.com they offer free images in a huge variety of topics then they have a reasonable package pricing for other photos. 

Great resources, everyone!  I’ve used Snagit and Avs4you.  Also, @tiffanyclark I’m going to move this into the Small Business since it’s more general and not specifically Facebook related (although these images can be used in Facebook and Blogs – tough to pin these topics down sometimes!)

@tiffanyclark  I’ll be excited to try these different image applications I hadn’t heard of – the big feature for me is *optimizing*. I don’t think Snag It really helps with that.

Regarding free images, you can use the advanced search on Flickr to specifically search for images that are available for use:

http://www.flickr.com/search/advanced/?&w=commons

at the bottom of this page you can select to search only for images that  available with a Creative Commons license. (Or, if you’re using WordPress, you can use Zemanta – which I just learned about over in the blogging club the other day.)

Free Images I would say go to http://freedigitalphotos.net- All you need to do is give credit to the creator.  @tiffanyclark I also like using Photo POS another free graphics program similar to Gimp2. I use it daily.
