This is something I’ve never understood.Sometimes I see some “identity protection” ad, and can’t really understand what it is all about.

If I keep malware away from my PC, avoid phishing sites/mails, login in https pages with complex passwords, and avoid telling my credentials to everyone, how could someone steal my identity?

PS: anyway I often check session history in services that have this function, to see if there’s some strange login from “strange” places.

Uhm… it seems so.Yet, I would be interested in the experience of someone who relies on some specialized software to keep their identity safe. I’d like to learn what this kind of software can offer, compared to a good combo of “antivirus-antispyware-firewall-wise behaviour on the web”… Maybe anti-phishing, yes, but I got anti-phishing protection even without paying a single dollar.
