Topic tags: Facebook, Twitter
  • Hi all,

One of the people who’s social media I manage has just been selected for her first Paralympic games. I want to save all of the congratulation messages that she has recieved as I know they all mean a lot to her.

These messages are on both Facebook and Twitter.

Is there any way to do this?

Any help will be appreciated :)
    Sam

  • Does anyone have any idea? I don’t want all the tweets to disappear before I have chance to save them.

    Thanks,
    Sam

  • @samscholfield Check out yesterday’s SME blog. Here’s the part you’re interested in (new to me!).  http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/twitter-for-business/

#14: Bookmark tweets you want to keep

Did you know that every tweet has its own web address?

You can save important tweets using the Favorites feature. However, many businesses use the Favorites as part of their Twitter strategy, and so they need another way to save tweets.

To get to the web address of any tweet:

    • Display the tweet on your screen.click expand

The Expand command displays more tweet options.

    • Click Expand. Twitter provides more tweet options.expand

The Details command displays the tweet in its own web page.

    • Click Details. Twitter displays the tweet on its own page using its unique web address.tweet url

An example of a tweet displayed on its own page using its unique web address.

    • Bookmark the tweet using your browser or bookmarking tool.

You can bookmark important tweets using your browser’s bookmarking tool or a web-based bookmarking service like Delicious. Now you have a way to keep track of important tweets so you can use them in the future

There are also more robust solutions, such as Backupify. Might be more than you need for right now, but might be a service you want to add to your toolbox if you’re working w/multiple clients.

  • so glad you asked this question, great answers collected…and pass on a congrats to your client, that’s amazing! @samscholfield Kristy, you are the ONE! You go girl, with your bad self. Great help here. @kc_kreative

  • Thank you all for your response, I was hoping for something a little more automatic (as there are quite a few messages!) but I will go through and bookmark :)

  • @samscholfield Here are some other apps to check out:

This one looks like it might work: http://searchhash.com/“Download hashtagged tweets as a spreadsheet to archive or analyse”

    Best wishes!

    Thanks @deairby :)

  • Thanks for the links @kc_kreative. The snapbird.org did what I was looking for. It put all of them in a nice long list that I could just copy and paste from … Yay.

    Thanks again everyone!Sam

  • @samscholfield Glad to help. Knew those bookmarks would be useful one day!
