With Kodak about to file for bankruptcy, and DC area camera chain, Penn Camera filing yesterday, it shows how the internet and technology has clearly affected product sales and retailers.
This article also shows trends from affluent buyers http://bit.ly/y3tWa7 who are savvy enough to research carefully but shop for good prices.
The economic downturn also played a big part in this trend. People are much more concerned about personal wealth, and many might be trying to maintain a lifestyle on less (speaking about affluents, not the working poor).
So as a small business, you have to set yourself apart and gain loyalty. I think this includes offering good, quality information and superior customer service. But is that enough?
What else can you/should you do?
