I am launching a new social media business in the first quarter.  How many blog post should I have written and how should I stagger their release and promotion?

I would say 5+ at least, just so your audience can get a feel for who you are and what you have to offer. Think of your company as a restaurant — how many dishes will it take to entice people in? All excellently prepared and affordable, of course.

I believe when we started our blog, I already had 5 posts published, then we really stuck it out for a year, posted at least twice per week. Now we’re generating leads on a weekly basis from our blog, and we post almost 5 times per week. And Rich is correct in that you have to make sure you do your keyword research, optimize the post, and make sure you’re producing content for the audience that you want reading your blog.
