How do you access Twitter? (14 posts)

  • I’m curious…how do you access Twitter? Are you using the mobile app, using a 3rd party tool like Hootsuite or TweetDeck, or do you go directly to Twitter.com?

If you use multiple channels, which do you use most often and why?

  • Both twitter.com and the iPhone&iPad app.

  • @rich-brooks  I access Twitter for my business via Scoop.it.  It’s an auto-pilot post of my facebook content.  The experts on SME may feel that’s probably the wrong way to use it, however, at this point, I don’t see any value in manually posting to Twitter.  It will be interesting to hear some professional strategies here in the club.

  • @rich-brooks Primarily through mobile texting (iPhone) as well as laptop browser to twitter.com and occasionally use the iPhone Twitter app.

  • @rich-brooks I use HootSuite, mobile on my Droid occasionally, and twitter.com

I prefer using twitter.com for reviewing new followers but do the majority of my posting with HootSuite

  • @rich-brooks Like  @joanmuschampfagnani I can access Twitter via Hootsuite. Though I must say that the app has been spotty lately so I usually go directly to the Droid Twitter app to post. For work I use an older version of Tweetdeck (pre-Twitter purchase I assume) as well as Buffer (bufferapp.com). For some reason I prefer Buffer over Hootsuite for setting up my tweets.

  • Hi all, I also access Twitter via Hootsuite as I basically manage different accounts and Hootsuite enables to do that all in one place with only one login. Scheduling Tweets with Hootsuite is also easy, thus I need to spend less time doing this task. Linking Twitter with Wordpress if you manage I Blog is from my point of view also a good thing to do.

    Cheers!

  • Primarily via Hootsuite on iPhone and laptop.  The multiple accounts and lists make it very easy to manage and see different streams.

  • @rich-brooks

Twitter.com for engagement & Sprout Social or Hootsuite for setting up posts.

  • I use buffer to post and Twitter.com for engagement.

Hootsuite gets a lot of mentions in the SME clubs and I’ve been considering checking it out, just haven’t taken the time yet.

  • Thanks for all the feedback, everyone!

@mgoes I find that if you’re not present on Twitter, you’re missing all the great conversations!

Check out the sessions on Twitter from the Social Media Success Summit for some more great ideas on using Twitter for success.

  • Thanks @rich-brooks.  I’ll check it out.

  • Hootsuite and Empire Avenue @rich-brooks

  • I’ve had to be selective and have selected to not really care about twitter, although I use it sometimes. @rich-brooks
