  • Hi

I would like to know opinions about HootSuite.
Besides HootSuite which other tools do you recommended to manage multiple social media channels?

    Thanks!

  • I use Hootsuite daily but some people prefer Tweetdeck.

  • From Hootsuite I manage my twitter and Facebook pages on my iPad 2. I don’t need anything else :D

  • I use Tweetdeck, I did try HootSuite but it was on a machine in an office where I freelance and I didn’t have time to give it  afair trail.  Tweetdeck does everything I want, url shortener, schedual tweets, columns for organisation, image uploader

  • @fernandocortes I love hootsuite.. it helps you manage your channels in one place.

    other tool?  hmm.. socialoomph

  • I switched to Hootsuite after using Tweetdeck for a long time. Hootsuite’s been more reliable (my opinion) and I find it more ‘user-friendly.’

Another tool I love is Postling. Indirectly it helps us manage multiple social media accounts. It notifies us as soon as anyone posts on a Facebook page. One of our services is managing and updating Facebook pages for clients and this tool keeps us on top of that!!

  • I like HootSuite, but I know some of my clients prefer SproutSocial

  • I use HootSuite, and like its ease of use. It helps me manage or monitor things for clients, too.

  • I use HootSuite and it has been easy to use for what I need. When I was volunteering with Social Media For Nonprofits over the summer, HootSuite made it easy to handle multiple accounts (Twitter and Facebook). I hope that they add Google+ capability to the free accounts soon.

@marlenegavens, thanks for the heads-up about Postling and its alert capability.

  • I recently started using HootSuite and we are on a Pro Account. Supposedly Google+ posting will be integrated soon for all users (currently only available to Enterprise accounts -  @kc_kreative) which will make HootSuite exponentially better than others including TweetDeck (which I used previously).

  • At Media by Moyo we truly believe in keeping personal and work separate when it come to platform we use to manage accounts. Tweetdeck for personal Hootsuite for professional.

  • Thanks @alexandrabriggs

If anyone has multiple HootSuite or TweetDeck accounts, i.e. their company’s and their personal one, is there a good way to manage them, esp. on mobile platforms? It’s doubtful that I can have two HootSuite logins on my Droid X for when I’m out of the office. I did notice that the updated Twitter mobile allows for multiple account toggling now…

  • @kc_kreative I actually have some of my personal pages linked into HootSuite so I can post from them as well opposed to having multiple HootSuite accounts. I know Twitter is starting to integrate “business” pages so I am guessing the toggling will be similar to what Facebook and Google+ have for business pages. I am usually just careful when posting to my personal so there isn’t a cross-post as the business page. I prefer retweeting or sharing what is posted from the business page

  • Love, love, love HootSuite. My company manages multiple types of social accounts for multiple clients, and we can manage them all, at-a-glance, with HootSuite Pro.

This is a link to my HootSuite affiliate account in case you’re thinking of signing up for the Pro version, which costs $5.99 month for unlimited accounts and one person (other than you) who has access to update the accounts.

  • @alexandrabriggs I appreciate the advice. Re-tweeting and sharing is an excellent idea. Twitter is my main concern as my phone has a separate program for posting to my personal FB account (which I keep for family & friends).

  • thank you all very much for your valuable opinions. For all said here it is clear that HootSuite is a very valuable tool. I will also take a look to the others mentioned.

  • @marlenegavens @fernandocortes

I started using Hootsuite today.  So far, it is pretty useful for scheduling posts.  However, since I only manage a limited amount of accounts, I find that it might be easier for me to just go directly to the site.  Though, as time goes on and we get more businesses, I am sure I will utilize Hootsuite to its potential! Thank you all!

  • I like Hootsuite as well, except I can’t seem to add another profile on my account, even though their app has been accepted on my Twitter account.

  • I use Hootsuite at work. I’ve also used Tweetdeck, and there really aren’t any significant differences. If you want to manage multiple Twitter accounts on your droid, try using Tweetcaster. I love that app.

  • I’m just starting out with Hootsuite, trying to add an RSS feed but nothing gets posted to Facebook and Twitter when I blog.  Any suggestions?

This is the feed I’m using. I checked it with a feed validator site:

    Entries RSS:http://r-blog.bayeq.com/?feed=rss2

  • I am curious…I use Hootsuite, too.  Is anyone having problems with the App crashing when used on the iPad?
