  • Pinterest is quickly becoming popular in the social media world.  I have a personal account, but I would like to hear peoples thoughts on in in terms of using it for business.   Is it going to be the “Facebook/Twitter” for photos…? Will it lead to engagement…?

  • Devani, it has caught my interest. I can see using it for myself– it’s a source of great content, and fun to comment on others’ finds. Whether or not it draws others to linger and buy is still hard to tell.

  • @Annfurnivall You could set up a photo for Pinterest with a link in the description to your Pinterest account. We’re talking about it on this thread.

  • You might like to check out Neil Patel’s Marketer’s Guide to Pinterest, http://www.quicksprout/2012/02/06/the-marketers-guide-to-pinterest Pretty much lays it out up to this point.

  • @devanianjali

It’s definitely the darling of the social media world right now. I was actually planning on doing a segment on it for our local evening news program.

To be honest, I’m struggling with how to use it for our business, but it definitely makes sense for some businesses. We’re working with a strategy for how a jeweler client of ours can utilize it better.

  • @devanianjali It is certainly the talk of the town. I have been poking at it gradually over the past 2-3 weeks, and this article this morning really struck me. Must-read!

Why Pinterest is 2012′s hottest website

  • okay! wow! Thanks for the input everyone! I’ll review it..and look more into the site.

  • Devani, you might also want to read the thread from a while back: http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/clubs/small-business/forum/topic/pinterest-for-small-business

I will say that I have tried pinning photos of my blog food pictures and when I do, i have more hits.

  • Given that Pinterest has been accused of quietly replacing people’s affiliate links with their own, I’m not sure it’s a company I’m ready to do business with.

  • I first heard about Pinterest here on the Social Media Examiner Clubs. and then I started using Pinterest for personal use. It works well between Twitter and Facebook.

I also will agree with most people about ‘How can I use Pinterest for my business’  and ‘Will it benefit my business to be on Pinterest?’

  • I’m waiting to find out what it can do for me. It sounds like a good idea, but the fact that you can’t get on to it as you have to wait for someone to invite you, may put many who would like to use it, either for personal or business, off.

  • @emillewolstenholme i just  tried to send you an invite…using  your  crafty web address….  maybe it will go thru…

  • @annfurnivall. Thank you. It took its time but it came through.
