@dyanneedwards The most wonderful thing about about.me is the seo value of the website. It has a very high page rank (this is the authority that Google gives a site) and therefore is a great backlink into a website. Linking websites that have a low page rank with websites that have a high page rank actually help the ranking of the lower ranked site. I give about.me credit for boosting my website into the top 1.6 million websites in the world!
Also try linking your website with other directories like CitySearch, Manta, BrownBook. These really help!

@amyhallbiz you always steal my answers! That is exactly why I love About.Me the backlinks! it is instrumental to an effective mini-net that Panda and Penguin are OK with. I set every client up with it as a part of “Your Social Grid”

Ok friends I need lots of help. I am a an extreme newbie with social media and I have had a website and I now have a blog with wordpress I have a facebook page and with all of this I have not received one lead.
Please tell me what am I doing wrong. I don’t want to spend hours a day on the internet trying to figure out how to attract people to my website so since many of you are experts maybe you can help me with something simple that I’m obviously missing.
Any input would be .appreciated

It’s possible that you are NOT doing anything wrong you just aren’t doing the rest of what is right… How do people find you on your sites? How are you driving traffic to you? Do you have a Call To Action? Are you focused on your ideal client or throwing it out into cyber space hoping someone will find you? Just a few questions to consider. @carolynrose

@carolynrose The reality is that lead acquisition takes hours to do. Lots of hours. You need to take the time to build a network. Then it is easier to market to, or call on that network. If there were an easy, “anybody can do it” answer, I would be out of a job!
