@jeduchscherer James, what does the Canadian Thanksgiving celebrate? We had the Pilgrams and the foodfest with Native Americans for our model. What’s your celebration about?

@atlantarobin Hi Robin. Our thanksgiving is connected to the harvest which is earlier because we’re situated in a more northern lattitude. We celebrate with the same large banquet of a meal with close friends and family The second Monday in October of each year is when we celebrate and is a national statutory holiday. It’s not as important a holiday as is celebrated by our southern neighbours. Christmas is still the biggest holiday of the year in Canada. James, thanks for sharing this with me. In all my years, I guess I’ve never really thought to ask about the special holidays of other countries until I became so entrenched on the Internet that my closest friends are now scattered across the world. Thanks again for sharing Canada’s Thanksgiving with me. Hope you had a hearty feast!
