Google’s Surprising Woes (4 posts)

  • What do you think of Google’s huge losses that were accidentally sent out early yesterday, causing the stock to drop 10% and actually have trading halted?!?

Will this have any impact on search? On Google+? On your business?

  • @rich-brooks I would say switch printers! Still, it doesn’t affect me (unless my retirement funds contain the stock). Every company goes through ups and downs. Google has been buying larger companies lately. Being in the ad business, while the political season has brought bounty, it has kept the regular advertisers away because there isn’t time available (due to having to have equal time for both parties/topics). Also, not sure how many politicians get into AdWords.

With a Google announcement scheduled in a couple of weeks, I’m sure they’ll rebound fine. And this morning I just read about a new laptop that they’re promoting through Best Buy for $249.

  • I’m not a shareholder, so this doesn’t have any impact on me or my business. Besides, Google is still the search engine used most (as I can also clearly see from the web analytics of the sites I manage) so SEO, ads, social media will still focus on or around Google.

It’s good to see that companies like Google also make mistakes and have low periods ;-)

  • Revenue was up. Wasn’t profit low b.c. they bought MMI? Agree with @kc_kreative . Fire the printer.
