Google+ – where to find statistics? (15 posts)

  • I haven’t figured out yet where I can find the follower/engagement statistics for Google+ pages. Do I need to look within Google+ or is this integrated in Google Analytics? If so, how do I establish my Google+ account within Google Analytics?

  • Great question Claudia!  I don’t know, though.  I will watch for some smart person to fill us both in on this. I’ve seen some stats, but don’t remember where. Google+ is a platform I’ve not delved into deeply as yet.  I am there, I G+ a lot of content and follow people. As far as the actual value, I don’t know yet. G+ novice here too. :D

  • @claudiapoeckl and @supereb – don’t want to be seeing to self promote but easier as I have them all in one place – I have a few infographics I have been collecting and some with Google+ stats on Pinterest – not sure if they will be of any help but take a look http://pinterest.com/mambamedia/google/

  • Thanks, @mambamedia, great infographics – always good to have. But what I’m trying to find out is where I can see who the followers of my Google+ page are (gender, age range, location etc) and which posts get most interaction/virality etc – similar to Facebook’s Insights.

  • @ Karen Black
I think it is perfectly acceptable to link to your own post or website article if it is on topic and helpful. I think – is that right? Sheesh.
It would be a pretty sad commentary when we are here to help each other if we cannot reference material (ours or others) that might shed light on any question, you know?  :D

  • @supereb thanks! :-)

@claudiapoeckl ah ok sorry – i just found this – did a bit of Googling and they seem to be legit – http://socialstatistics.com/

  • @ Karen Black Good Link! Thanks :D

  • Thanks @mambamedia. Interesting link. I’m afraid though that this is not sufficient for tracking my social media efforts. :-(

Strange that Google hasn’t set up a proper monitoring system – or if they did, nobody seems to know about it…

  • @claudiapoeckl yes if they have, I have not heard of it – you would think they would! Perhaps one of the club leaders or the folks from SME may be able to shed more light on this?

  • @mambamedia

@supereb is right: if you’re answering a question someone has posed and a blog post or something similar you’ve created helps answer it, then by all means, share!

What’s not OK is just posting your stuff as a “conversation starter.”

To answer @claudiapoeckl‘s original question: I don’t believe those stats exist yet.

  • @mambamedia- Cool, thanks for finding that link.. I am almost as popular as Britney Spears… only 11,000 more ranking points to go… I should beat her by 2015….maybe :) – I was amazed that one of my posts in January yielded a follow rate of over 325 people.. need to check what I said or posted on that day.. that is quite unique.
    Thanks

  • @karenblack – thanks for the link  http://socialstatistics.com/ Very interesting.

  • Thanks @rich-brooks !

    @alremetch you are welcome

@prestonodenbrett LOL! You have some good stats! looking forward to your G+ posts

  • @mambamedia – Just posted to G+ about how resilient that Walt Disney was… He went to 312 banks just to get financed and went bankrupt 7 times.. I knew about the bankruptcy, didn’t know about the 312 banks :)

  • @prestonodenbrett love it! have heard a few other dodgy things about his origins too but will leave them out the forum!
