Google Places Listing (7 posts)

  • Is is just me or is Google playing around with the local listings. Is you type in a search term for your business in your local area; Are you seeing your places listing?

  • @localbusinessco Not seeing them listed on Google.com.au (Australian version).

    Maybe they are tweaking them.

  • Hi Russell,I sure hope so.. seeing different things logged into my Google Account and then something else logged out.

Weren’t they adding something new this week? Don’t remember what, but read that somewhere. Anyone know?

  • I know they have started to integrate Google+ on search terms.
However, I am noticing the 6 or 7 Google Places listings which showed on Page 1 is missing.
Any insights into what Google is doing would be helpful, for us SEO marketers.

    thanks

  • Spoke with a small business owner who hired a “SEO” company a couple of months ago. They convinced her she needed a new website to get leads. They supposedly set up a Google Places listing, however, she never received the verification code. She doesn’t have access to the G account so she can’t even review it or delete it.I suggested she use her orginal company name and website address and try to create her own G places account.Any other suggestion to help her out. This really gives the hones SEO marketer a bad name.thanksPC

You’ll always see different things when you’re logged into Google, but it seems like the recent changes to integrate more “social” in your search have greatly increased that.
