G+ Verification (6 posts)

  • Hi everyone!

I’m interested in getting my company’s G+ page verified but one of their requirements baffle me.

The verification page states that we need to have a meaningful number of followers.

Does anyone know what that number might be?

    Thanks!

  • Hi @alice-ly —

I don’ to know that number either. But if you have all the other data and have applied, you may get a hint if you already do have a significant number of followers there.

  • Only 575 people have our page in a circle and we are verified. Actually got it when they were around 200 I think.

  • @alice-ly

That is interesting. What’s a “meaningful number of followers, anyway?” I’m sure there’s a big difference between what’s meaningful for a global soft drink company and my local diner.

Google’s equally vague when it comes to Google analytics and how they group sites by traffic.

If you don’t mind my asking, what’s the benefits of G+ verification?

  • @rich-brooks People will know you are a legitimate business and who you say you are. It’s like the celebrities verifying their Twitter accounts. @pacey That’s good to know I had heard it was up at 1000 followers before you could verify.

  • Note at bottom of said G+ verification page: If you are unable to meet the conditions above, please provide business verification, such as a bank or credit card statement, business license, or utility bill matching the information requested in this form. You may block out financial information, such as account numbers and other sensitive data
