G+ hangout: can discussions remain private? (2 posts)

Topic tags: Google+, hangout, privacy
  • A question that surfaced recently, as the “Small Business Book Club” is getting organized, was regarding to the privacy of discussions we would have during our first live chat. We intend to do it through Google+ hangout feature, and were wondering if the content of that discussion can be picked up by search engines, if there is a “trace” of that discussion.

Is so, would it better to go through Skype?

All feedback would be appreciated. Thanks,

While I don’t know the answer to your question, I would suggest that anything you put to G+, Skype or FB has the chance of going public.

I would think that you could keep things private/within the group, but if anyone chooses to share that, then it would go public.

I’d also check Google’s new privacy statement. They’ve been making a big deal of it lately. http://www.google.com/policies/
