my pinterest page is totally changed this morning….. ilike it…. wonder what else they are doing!!!
@annfurnivall I just checked mine out and I agree! It really makes your boards stand out. I don’t have time to play with it right now but would like to see if you can pin a particular picture on top. Have you checked it out yet?
I like this too — thanks for directing me there today! It reminded me to PIN a few things! Heh
@annfurnivall Yep, they rolled out a new profile design today. http://mashable.com/2012/03/13/pinterest-redesign-api/
I’m not a fan.
I like it! was a better change than facebook old to facebook timeline
Change is difficult for users, but companies that stand still on UI are bound to get overtaken by competitors.
As a business user and using my Marketing cap, I didn’t like the new image. But for sure Pinterest has better reasons to do it!
Let’s see what the stadistics can say on my next reports.
I’ll have to check that out. Have been away (eye problems). Glad you are keeping us on our toes! @annfurnivall
Was a bit surprised when I went to my Pinterest page today and saw it was changed, but I like it.
now it matters how good your first picture on a board is…..i have bumped a couple of pictures up to be at the top of their boards………
Yeah Ann – I was a bit surprised by that myself. IF I want a particular picture at the top, there is some jockeying to be done. Not crazy about that.
Keep in mind that the number of characters that display in your profile is now limited to 200. If you go over, it shows… (but you can’t click through to see the whole profile — at least I wasn’t able to). So you may need to shorten your profile (bio) so the whole thing shows.
@laurachristianson i always have toruble realizing what is visible to me and what to others…. if what i see , what others can see….?
i guess i need to count characters…
@annfurnivall
When you revise your bio, click save and if needed, refresh your screen. That will show you what other users see.
@laurachristianson thanks laura….
@annfurnivall @supereb How did you get the picture you wanted to show at the top? I couldn’t figure it out.
@dianebianchi
It’s always the last one you pinned so you have to go back and re-pin the one you want on top. An extra step that should not be necessary – I sorta wish they would have left it the old way. Equal for each pin.
ditto on the directions…
i kind of like the old way too… the new way takes an extra click… to see the persons board…but i guess this way is prettier at a glance…
@supereb and annfurnivall Thanks, that is a pain in the ***! Kind of what you have to do to put a picture on top of your Facebook photos too.
Just came across an article on Mashable that explains some things about the new Pinterest profile: http://mashable.com/2012/03/17/pinterest-profile-update/ Thought everyone would like some more info about it.
Good news for all yours, now on Pinterest you can select the top picture (the big one) on your boards!, it’s new option. @dianebianchi @supereb
@hildaalanisgonzalez Yeah, I saw that. I went and changed all my boards!
@hildaalanisgonzalez thats great and easy too!!
