  • I’ve heard of fiverr, but have never used this site. I’m trying it out to see what results I get for a logo design. Has anyone else tried it? If so, tell me about your experience.High Fiverr to ya! thanks

  • I recently use it for getting a Timeline cover for one of my FB pages. Was actually a test, because my expectations were not very high.
And I confirm what I thought. What can you expect from a $5 design??: JUNK
I got a really ugly basic timeline cover.

But the site has funny stuff and everything its only 5 bucks!

  • @deairby Hi Dea

You DO get what you pay for.

I look at Fiverr as a bit of fun. You could get something cool for $5, but do you really want to build your business on low quality goods?

  • Hi  @deairby,

100% with @russellallert ,  but  I would add one good experience.
I was just starting out and had a good draft of my logo. But am no graphic expert, so I sent it per fiver to someone to make my idea into a good format. Needed one interaction as – dark purple was not  clear enoughBut, all in all, for 5 bucks? very useful to have someone make my sketch into a logo. So if you know what you want, but do not want to learn a graphics software program for it. Problem solved.

  • @deairby,

I find that most of the offerings on Fiverr are complete junk, but I did have some luck with a “website review” gig that I bought a while back. The guy basically made a 10-minute screencast highlighting what I could do to make the website that I sent him more user-friendly. Not terribly enlightening advice, but for $5, not too shabby. Again, you get what you pay for; stay away from all of the SEO stuff, though.

If you’re looking for a designer to make a logo for you, create an employer account on Guru.com (free), post a project, and specifically request a quote from these people: http://www.colorgraphicz.com/#

It’s a company based in India, but they do AWESOME work, are super reliable, and give you unlimited revisions for only $35, which is really cheap. Their portfolio speaks for itself, and I’ve worked with them numerous times and never ran into any problems. Let me know if you have any more specific questions about the process; happy to help!

  • @deairby I have used Fiverr, generally good results. But, I did have to “fire” two people whose work was awful (got my $ credited back). I think there is a bit of luck involved, but if you are looking for graphics work, review portfolio stuff first. Consider also language barriers. As with anything, the more you can highlight what you want, the better. I would provide a full cost graphic designer a creative brief, so to me there shouldn’t be anything less.

For $5 some small things can be worth it. Once you know your look, you can get things done like eBook covers, FB cover photos, etc. and is less expensive and easier than do it yourself if you know what you want.

  • thanks for all the feedback..and thanks for the link, Lukas, I’ll try that out. @joanmuschampfagnani @lukaspleva @tamarnaveh-koren @russellallert @fernandocortes

  • I hired someone on Fiverr to create a flyer. Her portfolio has some really great samples. We gave her an example of what we wanted. What she made not only looked terrible, it was nothing like what we gave her. Then when we asked her to revise it, she answered once (saying she would revise it) then never again. I am not saying you shouldn’t use Fiverr but definitely keep in mind that most of the time, you get what you pay for.

  • Hi Everyone!
I am new to the club. I saw this Fiverr question, and thought I’d post my Fiverr experience. I got this cool video logo on Fiverr, but it cost more than $5. I have a list of good Fiverr gigs and bad ones. The video is here on youtube I also got a pretty cool voice over. Here is the voice over, it also cost additional $$$ over the $5. So I guess if you pay more on Fiverr, you get more.

  • @deairby  I got a singing Gorilla video gram for my daughters 25th b-day. It was crappy and fun … She loved it!!!

  • so fun!!! (hey, you don’t look old enough to have a daughter that old!) @amyhallbiz

  • I got a card reading for $5. it was from a gal who wanted to get some new clients. She went for 20 minutes. It was good.

  • I have used Fiverr for a few things and had OK to pretty good luck with the people on their, so far I have not had to fire anyone.
