  • Recieved this email from a friend….might be old news but…any thoughts or direction?

“Facebook is no longer the best way to reach an audience, as posts only reach a smaller percentage of those who like your page. Facebook as of a week, I believe, will now charge you if you want your post to reach a larger percentage of your audience (it can never reach 100%, apparently, even if you pay)”.

  • im  reachilng  20 to 40%  daily…the way i understand it   the  fans who  dont  interact with you  sink to the  bottom and dont see  you….. i  take  from this that i  should   try and  be  more relevant to those people or that its hopeless and   they arent that into me….  ….i wouldnt think that promoted posts  would solve all that and make  all  of  the fans  come  back and  be interested…… @dongrandy i think the interaction is   mostly up  to us  not a  trick on us  from  facebook…..hope im  not  all wrong on this…lol….and  someone  said that  low number was  from  facebook….

another reason  i  discount this  opinion is on the  example ive seen on here….  many  exchanged likes   on  facebook with   50 or  60 or  maybe  way more  others , mostly in  their social media   field,  now  are  they really interested in those   big  numbers of pages, do they really read  each others  daily  output? sounds unlikely to me….  so i  conclude that some likes have  been  scattered  around   in a    very  shallow manner and  not  followed up   ….and   help   make  the low  number of  engagement that  is   talked about… ….i dont think that  number is  true  for some pages at all.. .or  forced on a page  by  facebook…

i would like to hear more about how  the  cut off works…

  • Unless you’re selling toothpaste, you don’t want to post the ad to everyone.  That is why you focus.  In my case, my focus is only farmers within 5 counties.  I tend to discount broad statements like this.

  • So would it be fair to speculate that FB would not implement a charge for reaching out to our friends?

  • why?   they are free to  charge  for anything….and  they seem to  be  real interested in doing that…

but  do we need to pay?  that  is the question….are  they doing  something that  makes it harder   for us to  get thru to our  friends or  fans.?….i hope  some  real  good info OR  HARD EVIDENCE  on that   will come out if there is any….maybe  one of the mods  knows  or maybe its a hidden  facebook thing…i dont think things have  changed on my  connecting….but?????

on the promoted post  help  page   the  facebook  official  said  nothing  changed in  how we  connected with  our  connections/fans….. the  promoted  thing  was  just on top of  everrything else….
