Email Marketing Service needed – Mailchimp alternatives anyone? (8 posts)

Topic tags: email, mailchimp, newsletter
  • Greetings fellow marketers, sorry if that question has already been raised, I did not find anything. A client needs an email marketing service. It needs to have- Drupal-compatible signup forms (native Drupal module?) - the possibility to manage multiple lists/groups for multiple products (press releases/publication alerts etc.) -the possibility to manage multiple signup and user forms because of the fact that the client works in multiple languages (and so do the customers) - a stable and reliable send routine for emails with up to 5000 recipients -the possibility to create and code own templates according to the client’s CIThat is basically it. Ah, one more thing: it does not have to be free, paid services are ok.I am thinking about Mailchimp, seems to be the best out there, or am I wrong? Thank you so much in advance for any hint.Best regards from sunny Switzerland! Thomas

  • @ecumenix I use Mailchimp, but I’ve recently started using Campaign Monitor

    1. It’s not free
    2. It can be white labeled
    3. Has the best non techy user interface I’ve come accross for newsletter services.
    4. You can create your own templates or use/modify ones they have
    5. You can do multiple lists and segments within lists
    6. set up autoresponders
    7. I’d say they are pretty reliable. SitePoint uses them. I get emails from several different lists from them. There lists have got to be huge, way above 5000.
    8. RE: Drupal compatible – ehh… you don’t have to have a module just add the form to the template code. I’m currently working with a client to set up SM and a newsletter service. The site is Drupal (not one I created, I haven’t used Drupal to create sites before.) but you can visit the site and have a peak at the sign up form.
    9. It can do a lot more, but I think that covers your inquiry.

  • @ecumenix –  just got an email newsletter from sitepoint. Here’s the link to the online version in case you’d like to take a peak

  • I use OnMarketer.  http://www.onmarketer.com/home/index.rails

  • @juleswebb @leifstreet Thank you for your help! CampMon indeed looks good to me – I will try comparing Mailchimp and Campaing Monitor.

  • I also see that Vista Print has some sort of email marketing program. I have never used it, nor have I really researched it, so I can’t endorse it…just thought I’d throw one more option out there.

  • Hello Thomas,

how about using Video-Email? Let’s get in touch for more info.

  • @ecumenix MailChimp is the most efficient free service out there. If you want a paid option take a look at AWeber or Constant Contact
