  • Does anyone have any thoughts or preferences regarding; aweber, vertical response, constant contact or exact target? I’ve been looking into them and would love to hear what people think! Thanks, Margie

  • @margiemintz — I like Constant Contact since it’s an easy layout, love their customer support, they have an awesome (and interactive) learning center, and it’s just easy to navigate, create newsletter templates, and get analytics on how you’re newsletter are doing (e.i – how many get opened, shared, social network posted, emailed, etc..)

  • @margiemintz If you don’t need a shopping cart, Constant Contact and Mail Chimp are both good. Look at your list size and monthly volume–that tends to drive pricing.

  • Thanks. I don’t need a shopping cart. I have used Constant Contact before, but stopped because I wasn’t actually using it. When I get an email from someone using them and I want to unsubscribe, I have to enter my email address in order to do that. I like it to be more instant.

  • @margiemintz I have been using Constant Contact since 2004 and have found them to be excellent to work with. They have their quirks, but who doesn’t. I have also tried iContact, but that was about 6 years ago and they didn’t have very good support at that time.

Currently trying out MailChimp and they seem to be very good. MailChimp is very good for small businesses who have lists of less than 2,000 because your account is free. You don’t get all the goodies a paid account has, but you get enough of their features.

  • @margiemintz  I am using a video email service and sending out video email that I can customize or use many of their templates. It is free for a limted number you can send out daily, but it is for life. It also has web-conferencing included and they just introduced a video email response system that I don’t think anyone has. Message me and I can give you more details. Can’t give a link on this system. They also just created a white label so their name is not on their system and anyone can use it from small business to larger enterprises or groups of people- Insurance, Real-estate, Car Dealerships, Churches/non-profit and much more. I have a few chamber of commerce and associations looking into this right now.

The video response is great, cause I can send out a Thank you, and 2 days later send out something else, a week later something more.. This is drip marketing that is automated..Unlimited campaigns and unlimited tasks. Finally something affordable for the small businesses.

  • Thank you, Preston. I don’t need a video service at this point, but I’ll keep it in mind.

  • @margiemintz Here is a thread that might have some useful information in it:

  • Very helpful!Thanks.

  • @margiemintz

Although it has some things I wish were better, nobody gives better customer support than Constant Contact, IMHO.

Mail Chimp is a great option if you’re on a budget; first 2K subscribers are free…forever!

I also use Aweber b/c it has lots of cool features to grow your list and for segmentation.

  • @margiemintz  Hands down  MailChimp for ease of use and just darn fun!!! It’s a great price too. :)

  • Thanks!I’ll probably start with Mail Chimp since I have been erratic in the past with keeping it up regularly.

  • I say Mail Chimp. There is a break down in the link  @abigailgorton posted. But I do agree with  @rich-brooks that Constant Contact has probably the best customer support of any business i have ever worked with! If you need customer support and you send minimum of monthly mailers, Constant Contact. Otherwise, small budget and quarterly or bi-monthly mailings will do well to go with Mail Chimp.

I think Mail Chimp is better for new users.  Check out this article regarding the situation:
