Durham, North Carolina (9 posts)

  • I will be moving soon to Durham, North Carolina and am wondering if anyone lives there. Well, of course someone lives there, but what I mean is does anyone on SME live there. I am hoping to find a meetup group IRL, a leads group. If you know of any groups or how to find groups, I’d muchly appreciate it.Thanks.:) :) :)

  •  @deairby Dea Have you checked with the Chamber of Commerce there or searched for computer groups in the area; they are most likely to have SME users in them. I hope that many will help the disaster stricken residents of those areas, so be careful when you go.

  • @deairby Darn…I live in the Winston-Salem area (about 1.5 to 2 hours away) ….a bit too far for a meet up group :/  @durkbarton but the local Chamber is a good place to network from ppl in that area, I would also consider that :)

  • Winston-Salem? My son is at Wake Forest! Cool @devanianjali

  • @deairby My son-in-law is from Cary and I am sure his friends and Dad there will know some resources.  My daughter and husband went to App State, so really do know a lot about Carolina.

I am away right now, but will try and get info and message you with it.

  • cool, Joan, thanks @joanmuschampfagnani

  • Boo hoo, our Georgia girl is leaving us. We are not happy. But our loss is North Carolina’s gain. @deairby Make sure you go to Meetup.com and type in the area and subjects of your interests and 100 groups will pop up, many for social media and internet marketing I am sure. Not too many for tea and etiquette I’m afraid.

  • Meetup.com is a great resource. There are many, many marketing, social media, technology and SEO meetups in this area. Thanks to Research Triangle Park, the Raleigh/Durham area is a hotbed of internet and social media “happenings.”

@deairby, if there’s anything you’d like to know about the area, please feel free to contact me directly. I live over on the other side of the Triangle (southeast of Raleigh) but I’ll be happy to answer whatever questions I can and point you toward some local professional/social/networking groups.
