Do you use Ping.Fm? (9 posts)

  • Just heard about Ping.Fm.. looks like it will connect you with all the or at least a lot of the social media sites. Anyone using this? Sounds like it will take hours to set up.

  • I’ve been using ping.fm for a quite a long while. Be careful on how you setup the auto-posting, it can clutter up all of your networks with redundant info

  • Not currently, it can get out of control quickly like  @tonygreene113 suggests.

We prefer instead to set up our own Social Grid for our clients that the see the flowcharts for the automation’s. We brand the clients on multiple social networks and interlink them. If you are interested about our branding / linking product, PM me.

  • @prestonodenbrett @tonygreene113 @jasonwiser

I used to use ping.fm a lot, but I’ve stopped almost completely.

I do use some tools to manage multiple networks, such as Hootsuite and Tweetdeck.

However, I’ve been moving away from automation tools over the past year as I’ve noticed I get better engagement when I post things myself directly to the platform in question, and then “hang around” to respond to the responders.

  • With out question live engagement is best, but some companies have a real difficulty fitting this into their SM strategy. @rich-brooks

  • Hello everyone,I used Ping until I found out about Hootsuite.

  • I’ve got to second where @rich-brooks is going with this – my tendency to “automate” is dwindling recently. I’ve found that when I give each channel its proper attention, I get more out of it and hopefully I give more back to it too. Yes, that may be more challenging and time-consuming, but I believe more worthwhile.

  • I too have some good experiences with ping.fm tool. but now i got shifted on tweetdeck and hootsuite, because of many reasons…

  • I also believe in going to social networking without automation, but automation is a time saver. I don’t want to look like I am using automation. We always have conversations with people that connect as soon as we can… Is there anyway to get a notification for these conversations? I know FB does this and G+ – but twitter and youtube? I found out I can’t even get into my twitter account because that was the first Social Media I used, but I am not sure what my email was back then. Any ideas on that one?
