Do you use author tags? (2 posts)

Topic tags: author tags
  • Do you have your blog or website set up for Author Tags?

If you don’t know what they are, you’ve probably seen them. Go to Google, do a search, and when you see the author’s headshot next to the article, that’s an author tag!

They supposedly increase click through rates, which is something we all want.

SME (and others) had a walkthrough a while back: http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/google-author-tags/

So, do you use author tags?

  • @rich-brooks YES!!! They are a must have for a site. I have a plumber that is number 3 in the Google maps area. And they were “stuck” there for a while and the number of leads was consistent, but not really going up. When I added the google authorship element, he received a picture beside his google maps entry and his leads went up considerably. I thought he had shot up to the number one position of google maps, but it was that the picture was showing besides his entry.
