Do you recommend social media page in a site integrating multiple channels? (4 posts)

  • I have come across many corporate websites having an entire/separate page for social media activities where company’s multiple social media channels are integrated to form a all-in-one social media platform. One of best example is CISCO’s Social Media Page

    I do wonder many times…

    • If it works for companies in terms of expanding social presence and,
    • If it benefits companies in terms of search engine optimization
Do you have any answer to these questions? Do you think rather than just putting social links or icons with links, putting a whole social media page like one above is more beneficial to both companies and end users? If you think yes it benefits, do you have it for your own?

Hope to listen some insightful thoughts from you!

  • @moinshaikh Hi Moin,

Thanks for a link to the cisco socialmedia domain. :)
I think that this works well for large business that has a number of blogs with varying topics centered for niche based clients/customers. This structure works very good for Cisco who really embraced social media by participating on numerous platforms.
For the small business person that has one blog I think integrating socialmedia on every page helps engaging the visitor. Not many leave comments nor, even read them anymore so its important to be able to one click share from everywhere.

  • *sorry about the formatting seems the editor went a bit wonky on me.

  • @ptwylie thanks mate for valuable inputs. Even at one point, i also thought same that big companies rather, brands can gain much out of this structure, and you’re right for small bizz, enabling visitors to share the content is more important than such structures.
Also, for editor or formatting, don’t be sorry i can understand as i know its wonky behavior (for sometimes only!)
