Do you manage multiple client pages under one profile or separate? (7 posts)

  • Being in social media world, we usually admin multiple pages on FB on behalf of client, but do you as admin of multiple pages, use to admin these pages under one profile or create multiple separate profiles each for each page? Problem in managing multiple pages from one profile: You can join specific groups and add specific friends related to one page. I mean if i have pages of grocery company, metal fabrication company, solar power company then i can’t join groups related to all these industries. I mean this wouldn’t be fair and ethical to mess up all sectors under one profile. What do you think?

  • Not sure I fully understand… I always create the pages under the clients profile then add myself as an admin. I often follow pages that I think the client would be interested in under my own profile, just to learn more. Overall, I prefer coaching clients to do it themselves than doing it for them. If that does not work out and I am going to friend people on their behalf it is a choice of doing it as me, as a dummy profile or as the client. My choice is to do it as them… Have them give me login to their own profile.

  • @moinshaikh, I think the way  @abigailgorton is doing it is the best way: create a profile under the client’s name and then add yourself as an admin.

I would do this so if I ever sever the relationship with my client, I don’t take their identity and all that work with me. They hired me to produce it for them, and they own all that content, so I need to do it under their name so I can close that ownership circle when the time comes.

I’m on board w/@abigailgorton and  @erikdeckers‘s suggestions. Not just for FB, but for all social media platforms and Google.

First thing we do for a client is establish a new Google account so that we can set up analytics, web master tools and more, then hand off everything in a nice little package with a bow on top when we’re done!

  • @abigailgorton @erikdeckers @rich-brooks thanks for sharing your thoughts, really resolved my issue! Thanks a lot again, Happy V-Day!

  • @abigailgorton @erikdeckers @rich-brooks  Great advice – I am just starting down the path with multiple clients so this has answered some questions that I had.

  • @moinshaikh @mariavogeler I’m happy to answer more questions, whether it’s here, or you just want to reach out on Twitter (@edeckers).
