  • Hi Fellow Campers!

    I am trying to find a solution for integrating text messaging into our CRM based on lifecycle triggers. We use a CRM system that tracks different milestones and communications for our prospects. The system is great for emailing based on milestones and dates but we are trying to integrate text messaging and hitting a bit of a wall. We want to have text subscription and response generation possible with the system but our current CRM system does not accommodate this. 

    We are finding certain time-based (not specific dates) communications will potentially need an outside system for emailing and we are looking for one with email and text. Our CRM database has API posting so we would need to find a simple way for the two systems to communicate back and forth. Do any of my fellow campers have a suggestion? 
    I have looked into Mail Chimp for the Email aspects and I have worked with Trumpia but neither seems to be able to add the element of milestone tracking triggering a communication as both seem date-based.
    Any and all help is appreciated!

  • @alexandrabriggs I’m not sure I understand everything you’re asking but … if you’d like an API to take text messaging, convert it, and somehow store in your CRM system, then perhaps Twilio would be very useful to you.

  • @robmitchell Thank you for replying. Storing the information in the CRM isn’t the issue. I am needing a way for a milestone/trigger that happens (or gets logged) in the CRM makes the outside service (email/text/etc.) send a specific message with information from the CRM system. 

  • @alexandrabriggs OK, which CRM are you using? What’s its capabilities to be extended programmatically? Twilio has a very low-cost API for sending text messages which you can send from your CRM system (if you can extend your CRM to handle it).

  • @deairby Yes, you are correct. I know we can work each based on API individually, but I am looking for a combnied service and one that communicates well between our Lead Management CRM (Leads360) and the platform.
