Collaboration Software (6 posts)

  • I’d like to set up an environment on my server to allow clients to login and access an area where they can collaborate with me on their project. (upload files, add/review notes and documents, etc…)  Any suggestions?

  • Your description sounds more like a project management need. With this in mind I would.suggest you check out teamlab.com. They have a free online account you can use to ck them out, and I’m pretty sure the have a software package available that can be installed on your server (this was available in the past).Another similar option would be Basecamp.com. Teamlab is more economical and what I use, which is why I suggested it first.

  • @mtheory

We use 37 Signal’s Basecamp for what you describe.

And as @juleswebb suggested, it’s project management software.

  • HI @mtheory

Chiming in here with a third vote for Basecamp – specialized and very good, not much of a learning curve.  But you know, there is always some things to learn with new software.

    Eileen :D

  • I like Basecamp, too, but there is a cost, isn’t there? At least beyond your own personal use, I think. Never heard of TeamLab… definitely will check that out. I love freebies, lol.

  • @mtheory Asana rocks! I’ve used Basecamp & Podio and the PM system I like best is Asana. Every day I learn a new way to make my task management easier on Asana.
