Cloud server storage for large photo file. (5 posts)

  • I have a very large photo file of Basset Hounds rescued over 6-7 years on my computer.  I would like to move them to the Cloud so other officers of our nonprofit can access them.  The file is nearly 20mb.  I have seen SugarSync.  Has anyone else done something like this?

  • @trudy I think DropBox gives you 2Gb for free just for signing-up.

  • @trudy, DropBox gives you 2Gb for free. Box (not DropBox) gives 5Gb but does not have a really good ‘drag and drop’ interface. If you happen to already have a hotmail account you might be able to get 25Gb for free from SkyDrive; otherwise they offer 7Gb. And of course Google has a new offering for 5Gb for free.

All these services are free and have paid offerings that give you more space. I’ve been very happy with DropBox and SkyDrive, personally.

  • They do, if you want to share a folder and send an invite to others you will get extra storage when they install Drop box. I am currently up to 21 GB of free storage just by sharing :)

  • I use Dropbox for current info and Amazon S3 for long term storage.
