Business new years resolutions (9 posts)

  • Instead of resolutions I choose a few words to guide my business by for the new year. 2013 brings me commitment, communication and content. What is your word, words or resolution for the new year?

  • @amyhallbiz I limit my resolutions to 3 major ones, but if I distill them into 3 words, they would be strategy, focus, & sharing

  • @amyhallbiz @joanmuschampfagnani

    Three words huh?

    1 – Visibility (exposure)

    2 – Consolidation (umbrella)

    3 – Convergence (funds)

Maybe not in that order though. :D

My three words for starting 2013: Franchise, Focus, Finance.

    Happy new year, André

  • @amyhallbiz

Damn. @andre-van-garderen stole mine! Focus. It’s for my new side project which I’m hoping to launch this week, right after New Years!

  • @rich-brooks good  luck on  your   new   business..

heres  an  unasked for  outsider idea.,[an outsider  totally into marketing].

::: start a local   marketing  plan…a good tag line featuring  MAINE  , marketing in maine,  made in maine…….. ..   ..  why not  be the go to  guy in  maine….  YOU MUST KNOW THE STATE SO WELL…    it could    be a great  edge  for   a  web  company  .. you know the words, the   food ideas,  the  geography,  the   different  servers, the  basic  personalities,  the  rich parts the poor parts..maine  testamonials…the  seasonal  calendar…   …….  people like local,  ….you  know  stuff that a web  person   from  nevada  couldnt   possibly  know.. it  could  be  a little   attraction   you  naturally have … make up a  simple  /sample   little   webpage  to  show  what  you  could  do and  send it out  to the  best    resturants in  ???….

might  have  maine  seo benefits  too…. thinking of this as a side   idea…..  along  with your national push….

  • @annfurnivall

Thanks! I (and my company) actually fairly well known in Maine, as far as web marketing goes. It’s a small community. Did you know we only have ONE area code for the whole state?!? That’s how few people live here!

However, I’m “from away”, meaning I wasn’t born here, so I’ll never be a true Mainer. It’s just my adopted state.

That being said, I have a recurring segment on the evening news program up here as their “tech guru.” :) Here’s segment if you have 5 extra minutes today: http://www.flyteblog.com/flyte/2012/12/gifts-for-geeks.html

  • Hi @rich-brooks — sliding off topic.

Nice TV spot – Interesting geek gifts!  I’m going back to read the details later.

    Eileen :D

  • @rich-brooks well done!!!
