Business Grants Through Contests and Competitions (4 posts)

  • Many companies in Corporate America include awarding business grants through contests and competitions using a voting system through various social media sites as a part of the process.  These grants are a potential life-changer for some businesses.  When you receive a request from a business asking for your vote, how do you respond?

  • If it’s a business I’m familiar with and have had favorable interactions with, I’d vote for them.

  • Hello Jan,

Thank you for your response.  Question: If we support entrepreneurship and small business development and growth.  Should we only vote for the businesses that we are familiar with or consider voting for all businesses who seek support?

  • Hi @seretha, I’ve planned contests such as what you are describing. Typically, the sponsor defines the rules of the contest. For instance, a voter might be limited to the number of businesses they vote for; in which case, there needs to be a system in place to identify the voter to limit multiple votes. If there are no voting restrictions and you want to vote for others then why not.
