Best Way To Communicate With Sales Managers (7 posts)

  • I will be expanding my business In the next couple months and will have to stay in close communication with new sales managers. I will not get to see them in person often, so I am devising a plan to communicate over the Internet with them. What are some of the best ways to communicate with my sales managers all at one time. Video, group chat, websites? There will be approx ten people. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated. I know Google+ would be good, but I wanted to know if there are better options.

  • An Intranet for your sales reps would be a great idea! We did this for one of our clients recently, Selectcom-Telecom, who’s sales reps are all over Canada.

You can develop it with WordPress, and have: - a forum set up to all chat- a blog with RSS feed so you can post communications, links, tutorials, updates, company news, competitive news, etc and everyone will see it and could also comment to ask questions, etc (which would then be visible to all other sales reps so you don’t have to repeat yourself)…- There’s probably a plugin for video chat as well.

    And so many more possibilities.

    Hope this helped!

  • you can try ASANA as well. Its a perfect system to get connected with your team, you can anything you want within ASANA as per your needs. Please try and let me know if you have any difficulty in using it.  @theodoresturos

  • I agree with the first comment … your own intranet would be the number one choice. Items could be posted, responded to, projects/goals with deadlines & responsibilities. Until you create an intranet, Skype can be used, Go To Meeting or Google+ Hookup. The company Polycom, in Pleasanton, CA has conferencing services for a permanent solution.

  • @ijazrafi My business partner and I use Asana as a project manager to set goals and deadlines, but not so much as a brain storming platform. I need a system that is free flowing and very easy to use. I think google + will. Do the trick. @mposborn @melissaagnes I would rather use a service that runs of a cloud system. I am not to concerned about it being private for security reasons. Hmmm thanks for the feedback so far, more is always welcome!

I guess it depends on what you need.

If you need to see their faces (make sure they’re not multi-tasking!) then Skype or Google+ may work.

If you need to collaborate, then Google Docs (which I believe integrates w/G+, although I haven’t used it myself.)

However, both require good internet connections. Will they have a connection all the time?

You may need to use a text messaging service or something similar to send out alerts such as changes in prices, etc.

  • @rich-brooks I do like your text message connection idea. That could really be effective.
