I have an ex-client who has a “traditional”, static HTML website. They’ve been using Miva for about 10 years and are completely over it.
We don’t do anything with non-WordPress websites any more, but I wanted to give them a couple of “vetted” e-com solutions that would work in such an environment.
Anyone out there with a really strong suggestion?

Hello,
I host a internet radio show called, Holly’s Digital Advice and consider myself a conduit and have interviewed over 70 Social Media and Digital experts. My goal is sharing information. I interviewed Lauren Smith from Shop Visible and their service appeared to cover all the customer touch points;web, mobile,social, email, in store along with providing strong commerce and third party integration. I can also dig a little deeper for you regarding the company–they gave me a lot of material before the interview.

I’ve found that Wordpress with the right plugins makes a great ecommerce platform. If you have the budget Magento is the best of the best. I would stay open source if you can. That way you can have complete control over your data and store.
Make sure you get an SSL certificate regardless.
