Are you using outsourced workers? (9 posts)

  • Are you using outsourced workers? If so what countries are the best for doing daily tasks?
I would like to train 4 or 5 specially skilled workers to do daily repetitive tasks that demand too much of my time. e.g. Forum posting, blog posting.

  • @ptwylie

Let’s talk. I am in Chennai, India right now; we have a team of 30 PPC analysts, 10 SEO and social folks…we are looking to grow the SEO and social side of things.
I think you are in a good place for outsourcing since you mentioned the tasks are repetitive. A well defined process is crucial for the successful outsourcing of tasks.
As far as where to outsource in general I love India for marketing and web development, like Vietnam and the Philippines for graphic design and layout.
    Best,

  • @robpeck thanks Rob…I’ll followup with a DM :) Cheers!

  • A lot of people are using workers in the Philippines. Check with http://www.123employee.com/  Daven has been in this business a number of years. Tell them Anita sent you, :)

  • @ Paul Wylie
I do outsource.  It’s a really big world out there with lots of talent everywhere. However, I try to keep my business workers in the U.S. The economy being what it is here, we need to employ as many U.S. workers as possible.

I believe you are in Panama so that point is pretty much moot, eh?  :D

@Rob Peck - I’ll see what you have to offer as many of my clients do business overseas. :)

@Anita Cohen-Williams  – Nice link! I’ll pass that on too.

Something to consider – A Virtual Assistant – many can be found here:   http://www.virtualassistants.com/

  • @supereb Nicely said. I very much agree.

  • @supereb Very level-headed assessment of outsourcing. Sounds like you try to keep jobs stateside where it is feasible, but go for off-shore where it is a better fit. Seems fair. I am in a somewhat unique situation as the lone American employee of my company, so I guess I can see it from both angles. If my boss were protectionist about India I would not be here.
@supereb @anitacohen-williams How defined is the virtual assistant’s role? I’ve never had one. It seems they have a very broad skill set, which could be a mixed blessing. Let me know, I’m curious what kind of tasks you send them. Same as a typical assistant or more complex? Good to see we are safe with our specialized SEM and social work. :)

    All the Best,

  • @ Rob Peck In general, the Virtual Assistant is, or can, be hired with a specific project in mind. I’ve had several over the years, for research mostly. I know a few clients who use Virtual Assistants to do repetitive accounting tasks. One recent client is looking for someone to answer phone calls, remotely.  It depends on the job or tasks at hand.  And yes, many times a virtual assistant needs a specific type of background, which is where the well set out directive comes into play.

  • Hello folks. I do not do outsourcing but I am accepting part time or full time job right now. Small businesses choose to outsource their work here in the Philippines.
