Anyone used Vocus? (5 posts)

  • I went through an online presentation/demonstration with Vocus on Friday about their Social Marketing software integration along with their PR capabilities. While listening and viewing I began to wonder if any of my fellow campers have gone through the same demo or have actually tried Vocus?
I was disappointed to find out they do not have Google+ integrated yet and for some of the Social Media I still like using HootSuite Pro but I was interested in their analytics as well as their posting content to improve SEO capabilities in conjunction with the PR Suite. Does anyone have experience with this?
I told the rep that until Google+ is added I can’t even think about budgeting in Vocus but he is supposed to be keeping me posted on updates and information. Do any of you currently use Vocus or plan to?

  • @alexandrabriggs I’ve been on the fence for a few years about Vocus, and am thinking again of another demo.

For some reason, I find it difficutl to associate value at their price. I need to truly understand the product better to see if it makes any more sense now.

Are they offering a shorter term trial? Last time I came close (about 2 years ago) it was a long term commitment, and I’m not ready for that.

  • I used VOCUS for a couple of years and really liked it.  You have to commit to it however.  You can customize your distribution lists, which can even include top bloggers.  They also have a PR Web component that hits all the newswires.

Be sure to understand exactly what you are paying for. I did feel short-changed the last go-around.

  • @stevemcauliffe the integration of PR Web hitting all of the newswires and raising SEO is what really intrigued me. Did you have good results with this?

  • Hi @alexandrabriggs,

I didn’t have a huge commitment with VOCUS allowing me to identify SEO results well.  I will say that PR Web did give us much more exposure.
