Is it a time saver? Does it easily organize the data?
Absolutely. I use the small portable scanner, and the software is very useful for organizing my contacts.
I use The ScanSnap S1500M and like it a lot. Very fast scanner but the Windows software is better than my Mac option.
@anitacohen-williams Does it work well on business receipts? Does it make it simple to upload into something like Quickbooks?
@denisedorman I’ve used the Neat system for several years. It’s useful for scanning my receipts so that I don’t have to manually input.
I love the neat scanner !!!
Here is a screenshot that may help: http://www.neat.com/solutions/neat-solutions/receipt-scanning/neatworks-screenshots
They have just improved the software with the release of Neat 5. I found this paragraph: Advanced import/export options such as “Print to Neat” from within websites and email programs enable you to export data to popular programs such as Excel®, Quicken®, QuickBooks®, and TurboTax®
This came thru today in a SmartBrief newsletter. http://www.sci-tech-today.com/news/NeatReceipts-Helps-Sort-It-All-Out/story.xhtml?story_id=12300CTXHZ30 I am a bit confused as to the scanner. Is the larger one shown in the picture what you get or is it the smaller one, that seems to have to be moved manually down a page/receipt/card. This is basically a good review and seems to concide with comments made here. I am pretty much convinced, as a former records management professional, that Neat Receipts will be what I would want.
@Trudy – Thank you for this. The smaller one is about $200 and the larger version is $400 – I’ve been looking at them online.
@anitacohen-williams – Thank you for posting this!
Well, in my opinion, in order to get a good, accurate, readable, searchable scan, the Larger verision is really the way to go. @denisedorman
