Anyone attended Social Media Success Summit in the past? (8 posts)

  • Has anyone attended the Social Media Success Summits in the past?  If so, did you get a lot out of it?

  • I have and they seem to be for the beginner…some good tips but if you are experienced you could be left wondering.

  • @amcain @diannebeatoncgacaps

I’ve attended every one. Although if you’ve been doing this for a while there will definitely be a lot of familiar ground covered, I will say that I ALWAYS learn something new from every single presenter.

Of course, I’m biased. I’m presenting at #SMSS2012!!

    Here’s why I like SMSS:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyQatcCFhFY

    Hi Ann-Marie,

I’ve attended 6 different success summits including 2 social media success summits and think that they do offer a lot of information and are great for small business owners looking to understand why social media is important to their business and some information and ideas on how to get started.

There are certain presenters that I enjoyed and still actively follow like Jay Baer which I thought to be amazing because he gave actionable information.

Is there something specific you’re looking to gain further insight?

  • @amcain Hi Ann-Marie another you get out of the site is you find out others are asking the same questions as you and if they have the twitter feed like before it helped inspire friendship and I am still in communications from last year.

  • I agree with Dianne … I attended the last summit and it did seem like it was for beginners (like me!).  There is an enormous amount of content though so I am sure there is something new for everyone.  I will attend more conferences in the future to keep on top of the trends in social media marketing.

  • i would love to find   a place     focussed on   local  users..and by  people    with lots of  experience with local pages……maybe they will have  something like that  sometime…

..most places ive   looked at     cover the  big  general ideas about  social media   are  more   about   all the  folks  who sell on line   nationally….and  starting  up..  .great  for  those  folks ..

..but i   need  the next  step…  about  selling in  my  backyard.with lots of  examples   about local  users and  the  different ways they approach   their   social media…….   with lots of   good  analysis  and   facts and examples of   great  local   strategies and plots….and  how i did it  interviews..

  • Thanks for the feedback.  @iamconsulting I would not consider myself a beginner but things are ever-evolving in the world of social media and I want to ensure that I stay up to date and on top and ahead of the latest trends.  @annfurnivall I agree with you on the fact that I need to brush up on how to target more local customers.  In my case, it would be regional.
