any ideas on organic backlinks? (6 posts)

  • i would gladly work on  getting   more back links….  but  not interested in   spammy   link  exchanging….  right now we  get a lot  of  visits  on our website from  —pinterest,  being mentioned on  3  blogs and   from  one    forum   related  to our  business..and  from our  2  blogs…

. we are  in  several   industry   directories in our  state but  they  dont  compare to  the   other  sources of  visits…….

i cant  read  the info w ell enough to  see where the facebook   visits  come  from  but thats probably  big .

am i missing any  good  ideas?

    ..

  • @annfurnivall A couple more suggestions:

    1. Be a guest blogger for someone who will include your byline and link to your site

    2. Add valuable information or perspective (not just “Nice post”) to someone else’s blog post by commenting and including your name and URL

    3. Always include a link to your Web site in your e-mail newsletters, especially if you are archiving them

    4. If you are a member of your Chamber of Commerce, be sure to add your company information to their online directory

    5. Write on topics that interest you and submit to article directories. Include a link to your Web site in your author resource box

    6. Never just close with your name (unless it is against the rules of the site)–include a link to your Web site too

I agree w/@debbielynnava on guest blogging. I’m telling my clients that it’s currently one of the best ways to get valuable backlinks.

Also, just finished reading this article on how videos help with backlinks. Breaks down which type of posts are most likely to get links: http://www.reelseo.com/power-video-link-building/

  • @annfurnivall Hi Ann
Another way I’ve found to get high quality links is to place my clients in local directories and then go back and ‘claim’ the listing.
Also review sites like Yelp and Google Places are invaluable.
Social media site like Google+, LinkedIn and Facebook help a lot!

A word of caution on the guest blogging and comment posting is that the blog you are posting on needs to have a P/R rank equal to or higher than yours for the link to really help raise your site. Your P/R rank is the authority that Google gives your site and can be found at http://www.googlerankings.com/prindex.php

  • @rich-brooks Awesome article! Thanks for sharing.

  • thanks  …we  do about all that  except the  guest  blogging…imho  blogging isnt  relevant to my  business anymore…my  work there  resulted in  mostly   connections    too far away to buy..and  pinterest and facebook have   gotten   tons  more interaction that  the  blogs  ……

@amyhallbiz i think we are in all those   and will be  double checking….

a friend  just  turned me onto a   couple of   facebook  groups   very related to my  business so im  going to  be  checking that out….

@debbielynnava thanks…we   put our  website  whenever we  can..and  qr  code to it too….  …  thats  been  great for us….im  so against the  chamber  on the national  level i wouldnt  join….  but  we  are on   some other local places….  @rich-brooks thank you…oh  great….another  reason to learn  video…im putting that on our list…
