Affiliate Program for Website (8 posts)

  • My company, Military Apparel Company, is looking for a new affiliate program for our website, http://www.militaryapparelcompany.com. We use Shopify for our sales program. Currently we are using OmniStar Etools for our affiliate program. We have had nothing but problems since switching to this company a few months ago. We are a direct selling company and use an affiliate program to track sales of our representatives. I am looking for a new affiliate program or other options to track sales and identify when to make payouts.

We give each representative a personalized website link that tracks back to their affiliate account and payout when their commission reaches $100.

I am open to suggestions. Currently there are 50 representatives and we could go back to manually tracking but we are expanding rapidly and it would be easier to get on board with something now while we are still a smaller company.

    Thanks!!!

  • @lorithueme you might check out 1ShoppingCart. I am not as advanced in affiliate size as you, but they do have a good tool that includes the ecommerce, email marketing and an affiliate program. I am happy so far, and it’s nice to have some consolidation.

Here are two links, the first is clearly my affiliate link:

  • I sold luxury watches online for a few years and used http://ShareASale.com. They were great!

  • I used the WP Affiliate plugin and it works with a variety of sites but it doesn’t specifically list Shopify.   http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/  You may need to check.  I’ve also used E-junkie but that requires having your products listed on their site.  Now I use 1shoppingcart but that’s a whole cart that would replace Shopify and costs $130/month with the Affiliate option.  Does Shopify have any recommendations?  @lorithueme

  • Hi Lori!

I am familiar with companies like Shareasale or Commission Junction for example. However, I recommend that if you are not too attached to your current site that you switch over to an eCommerce site like 3dcart that has a built in affiliate program that is easy to manage and track affiliate sales. You can approve payouts and set it up so that your Affiliates get automatic notifications by email. I currently have a 3dcart site and developing my own Affiliate Program. 3dcart also offers unlimited feeds that you can use for Affiliate ideas, updates, and feedback. I am also currently working on a KnowledgeBase for my Affiliates that I have just begun yesterday. If you need assistance with developing your Affiliate site or switching over to 3dcart, please allow Frugal Diva Designz to be of assistance to you. We can create your Help Desk/KnowledgeBase as well as work on other development ideas like Marketing Descriptors, Banner, Selling tools & widgets and more.

P.S. 3dcart also offers a Facebook App that your affiliates can use and setup with their affiliate ID as well as a Widgetbox selling tool which will allow users to embed your mini store in a widget on their website or blog.

  • Thanks @frugaldivadesig, I will take a look at all your suggestions and pass on to our President. We just completely redesigned our website this spring and it’s built on Shopify so I’m not sure if she would be willing to move the website. But worth looking at.

    Lori

  • You are welcome. Just a suggestion. I think that Shopify has other great features like those nice slideshow however. Enjoy your week!

  • Thanks for asking this question. You have gotten some great information in the answers that I will tuck away to use, too. @lorithueme
