99 Cent Domain Names (dot-com) till 12/31/12 (7 posts)

  • I just got mine :) and thought I’d pass the word. You can get up to 3 dot-coms for 99cents each. Not an affiliate… just passing along news of a good deal.

If the link doesn’t work, just go to GoDaddy’s Facebook page and scroll down till you see the big 99 Cent sign they posted around December 6 or 7.
    Happy Holly Days!

  • Hi @atlantarobin

I don’t purchase from GoDaddy.  You do have to be careful with many registrars. And some try to sell your domain to the highest bidder, and DO that very thing, using the 5 day grace period as an excuse to refund your money and sell to someone else.  This is a part of “domain tasting” and although it is said to be an older practice, it is still carried out at many “cheap” registrars.

Buying “domains on sale” may be a loss leader for this very thing. They may want to see what people are interested in purchasing, what the trends are now as compared to say the same time last year. With your searches fresh in hand (for new domains), they get exactly what they want, for free.

  • And of course, there’s this one and many more like it —-

Want to Register a Domain Name? Don’t Go With GoDaddy

Hense – cheap is not always best.

  • Hmmmm… Well I guess I could turn in 100 domains that cost $100 and spend $1,000 instead. Yeah, that’s what I should do…

Right now GoDaddy has $1 special for domain names.

If I see someone with $1 domains, I’ll post that, too, just for those who want that.

I can also research which domain registrar has the highest values and report their prices, too. But today…

GoDaddy has $1 domain names till December 31, 2012.

I bought my last $1 domain names because someone was nice enough to post the notice here in SME’s Networking Clubs. I just thought I’d try to be nice, too, and repay the favor to others.:) I understand if not everyone would want to take advantage of that 90+% savings.

  • Have had domains and hosting with GoDaddy for close to 10 years with never a problem that they didn’t address timely and professionally. In fact, a few months ago they experienced a major outage for one or two days and without even asking I received a free month for any service affected.

  • HI — @atlantarobin —  @mtheory

Just serving up information, no need to be defensive. It is JUST my opinion based on what I know and read.  Everyone has different experiences to draw from.  I’ve cleaned up a lot of messes associated with that particular company so simply don’t use them for my professional biz.  That’s my experience so I shared that too.

    Happy Holidays to All.

    Eileen

  • I too have been a customer of GoDaddy for many years and have found their Customer Service to be outstanding.  Anytime I have questioned a charge they have happily refunded with no questions asked.  Their Technical Support has been exceptional too.

@atlantarobin  I was away from my computer during the holidays and I am sorry I missed your post.  I would have taken advantage of the offer.
