  • What do you do to bring active likes to your business page?

  • You can try to do some Contest, FB Ads targeting your competitors.

  • @katrina-cole Generally, at initial stage we post informative, fun oriented and interesting content that attracts and retains fans. The gradually design schemes, promos and some contest like photo contest, lucky winner contest etc. You may also use quiz app.

  • for long   lasting   organic likes  i  try to stay in tune with what THEY   like…what they  come to me for…..for us   THAT MEANS whats   happening  at the store,  .  interesting  product  pictures   most popular  products, how to use them….people  pictures…something  fun and  dorky once in a while…

..we  build our page  from our  customers and  connections  not   the other way around….so we kind of  know  what they are  about and  what   they   like….

  • @katrina-cole I am not sure what your business is but if your are working face to face with your clients always ask them if they are on facebook and have your fan page url on your business card. I even include a QR code (scan code) on my business card that direct links to my fan page so people can do a simple visit on their mobile device. It does not matter how many fans you have because the only ones that count are the ones that convert.

  • @ken-mcclary hit it right on the head in that it’s all about what the fan does for you and not their ‘Likes’.

Ultimately users follow your company page on Facebook because there is some incentive for them to do so. Posting interesting and informative content is always good (keep a schedule!), you can also run promotions that get your fans talking. Simply asking people to ‘Like’ is also not a bad thing as long as you’re not forcing them to do so. Never hurts to

Never forget the real world! Telling your customers the benefits of following your brand on Facebook can work wonders. If it’s purely electronic, try placing the call to action over email.

  • @katrina-cole Content is king!  Posting content that is informative, sets you up as an expert in your niche, and, sometimes, that is just plain fun and entertaining will keep people coming back.  It will also generate more “visitors” to your page through posts that may be shared or commented on.

    Good luck!

  • Try collaborating with other page admins, don’t over-do it but share their info when you get the chance and tag them on posts they may find helpful and eventually you’ll have an ‘army’ of fellow admins working with you to promote your page (same as you do theirs)… Just keep it practical and remember your fans first. =)

  • @heatherperkins  Great advice!

  • @heatherperkins i dont  get this…in my world it would  be like   macys  promoting   pennys, or  ford  featuring  chevys………… i wouldnt use my page  to  promote others  selling  what im generally selling …

this  seems  so  normal in  the   social media marketers  world …it looks like most  are about   education   more  than  promoting  their   product…

it  must  be  a lot  different   than  my  world….hopefully its working out in a cash  way or  you wouldnt  be  doing it so omuch………….big  advice from  gurus  in my world is  never to   lead a person  away  from  your   website….

  • @annfurnivall

This does not have to be competitors… Let me give you an example, I have my Internet Marketing page and I have linked up with admins from a Networking page, Photography Business, Finance Company and a Blogging Expert… We cross-promote one another and it works. See the difference? =)

  • @heatherperkins i see the   cross linking quite often… ….  and if it  works  great…..  hopefully  you arent   putting on links  to   your  competitors  too….i have seen that a lot  especially  since most   marketers  offer  such a wide range of   things, and  actually do offer  many of the same  things   as  the links  they  so often  share..aka overlap…. ….  thats what i was talking about…

….i do  try    not to  send   a customer   away  from  my site   , since ive tried  so hard to get them  there…..even if it isnt   in  competition with me….i do link out  on  facebook once in a while  ..but it sure wouldnt  be   to  a place  trying to sell to my  customers…..

i guess its  just a different way of looking at  business….

  • @annfurnivall

No - work with admins for pages that compliment yours…another example from one of my pages: a Hair Salor that occasionally cross-promotes the page of a Tanning Salon within their community (and visa versa). The Tanning Salon does NOT do hair and the Hair Salon doesn’t do tanning… See how that could work? =)
