Using Digg Digg plugin for WP and I have always just assumed XFBML was the way to go, but I really do not know why. Of course every blog out there differs and there is no general consensus. So, SME clubbers, what do you say?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this @jasonwiser - I think XFBML was the way to go but it will be going away: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/fbml/ So iframe is the preferred solution long term.
